NERDC IDs & Accounts

Everyone at UF needs a GatorLink account. Many faculty and staff members at UF and other agencies and institutions will also need a NERDC account for administrative purposes.

In addition, NERDC offers specialized accounts for research, classroom work, and even commercial accounts.

NERDC offers different user accounts for different user needs. Below, you'll find info on different accounts, who can sign up for each type of account, and how to open the account that's right for you.

GatorLink

If you are a UF faculty member, student, or employee, you are required by UF policy to have a GatorLink account. Your GatorLink account provides you with access to e-mail, space for Web pages, and a dial-up allotment. Your GatorLink username may be required to access various administrative services provided by UF. A GatorLink account is not the same as a NERDC account, but the GatorLink services does reside on NERDC systems, and technical administration is provided by NERDC. User account management and support are provided by the UF Computing Help Desk at helpdesk@ufl.edu; (352) 392-HELP; room E214/E520, Computer Science & Engineering (CSE).

NERDC/UF Administrative Accounts

In addition to your GatorLink account, if you are a faculty or staff member at UF or another of the institutions or agencies we serve, you may also need to obtain a NERDC account in order to perform various job-related functions, such as accessing student records, personnel, purchasing, or other administrative functions. Consult your supervisor, department chairperson, or dean for guidance on what you need, and whom to contact. Many NERDC accounts are created and administered by the computing support staff in the various college and departmental offices. Since these offices pay for their staff accounts, they can create and delete them and perform most administrative tasks, such as password changes.
